Santa Clara Agrihood is the Bay Area’s first integrated agricultural and residential development, designed to foster sustainability, inclusivity, and community connection. Featuring a 1.5-acre urban farm, public gathering spaces, and 361 housing units—including affordable homes for seniors, veterans, and mixed-income residents—the master plan addresses the region’s housing crisis while honoring its agricultural past.
Developed through extensive community input, Agrihood blends open spaces with shared amenities such as farmers’ markets, educational kitchens, and rainwater recapture systems. Its intergenerational design fosters connections across diverse populations, helping to combat senior isolation and support vulnerable communities, particularly BIPOC residents disproportionately affected by housing and food insecurity.
Beyond housing, Agrihood actively fights food deserts by providing fresh, locally grown produce, reinforcing farm-to-table living. This innovative project not only enhances biodiversity and sustainability but also serves as a public resource, strengthening Santa Clara’s social fabric for generations to come.
