With a 25-year history in the AEC community, Kristen Werner, has served as the AIA Silicon Valley Executive Director since early 2020. She brings a breadth of experience to the organization with an extensive background in publishing, marketing, event planning, and business management skills. Prior experience includes leading business development efforts for a large Silicon Valley general contractor and sixteen years as owner/publisher of an architectural based trade publication featuring regional projects and industry leaders in the AEC community. As Executive Director, Kristen serves as the strategic and hands on leader, managing day to day chapter operations, supporting the Board of Directors and the leadership of the organization as well as being member facing representative of the chapter.

As Executive Assistant for AIA Silicon Valley, Sarah Peña supports the chapter’s leadership and members, playing a key role in coordinating operations, signature events, and member engagement initiatives. Through strategic administrative support, she helps advance the chapter’s mission to ensure the delivery of meaningful programs and valuable member experiences. Her work contributes to the organization’s continued growth, visibility, and impact within the Silicon Valley architecture and design community.
