Overview:
The final session, titled “The Future of Our Culture,” explored how digital transformation and AI are reshaping architecture. Focused on sustainability and user-centered design, the event highlighted the potential of AI and robotics to transform the built environment. Through a series of presentations, a guided tour, and a panel discussion, guest speakers addressed practical applications, ethical considerations, and strategies for integrating emerging technologies into architectural practice.

 

The Possibilities for AI as a Design Tool in Architecture

Wes Jones discussed the role of AI as a creative and analytical tool in architectural design. Drawing on his experience as an educator and practitioner, he offered insights into how AI can expand design possibilities while maintaining conceptual rigor.

 

Accelerating Design Explorations and Deliverables using AI Copilots

Julian LondonoCofounder and CTO, SketchPro.ai

Julian Londono demonstrated how SketchPro and other AI tools enhanced workflow speed and accuracy. He shared practical use cases and emphasized how teams could integrate these tools to stay competitive in the evolving AEC landscape.

 

The Impact of Robotics on the Architect’s Role in Construction

Dr. Tessa LauFounder and CEO, Dusty Robotics

Dr. Tessa Lau presented on how robotics are transforming construction by enabling precise execution of design intent. She challenged architects to reclaim leadership in the building process by embracing these technologies.

Nelson Koen reflected on his career in construction and real estate development and discussed the impact of digital innovation in PropTech and ConTech. He highlighted opportunities for future industry growth and disruption.Tessa, Julian and Wes shared their perspectives on digital transformation as well followed by an interview Q&A session from scholars.

 

Closing Ceremony:

The session concluded with a Closing Ceremony presented by Founding Chair Madhubala Ayyamperumal, Assoc. AIA, who shared the journey and success of this pilot Christopher Kelley Leadership Development Program (CKLDP) — the first of its kind in the western United States. She emphasized AIA Silicon Valley’s commitment to fostering leadership and diversity within the architectural community and looked forward with optimism to welcoming and supporting a new, dynamic cohort in 2026. All scholars were awarded a Certificate of Completion in recognition of their achievement.
