SAN JOSE, Calif., July 1, 2015 – On Saturday, October 10, 2015, the American Institute of Architects, Santa Clara Valley Chapter (AIASCV) will be hosting a Home Tour by Architects featuring four homes in celebration of design excellence. Open to the public, the Home Tour showcases the finest residential architecture in the South Bay.

The dwellings feature cutting edge, modern environmentally sensitive residential design, with a focus on sustainable features that demonstrate the talent possessed by our area’s best architects. During the tour, participants will have the opportunity to see some of the area's latest residential projects from the inside out, meet design teams, explore housing trends, and discover design solutions that inspire unique south bay area living.

The Tour is self-paced. The Architects will be present during the home tours.  You can drive the tour route or bike the tour route. By bicycling, you can enjoy the quaint neighborhoods where the homes are located. You should allow at least three (3) hours to take the Tour.

“Our goal for the home tours is to educate homeowners on how working with an architect can transform ordinary living spaces into responsive, tailored, livable environments using a variety of design solutions as well as introduce them to innovative design solutions and products available for their home to achieve high energy efficiency” notes April Becerra, executive director of AIASCV.

Pre-tour Meet the Architect Cocktail Mixer will be held on Friday, October 9, 2015 from 5-8 pm with opportunities to interact with representatives from the design team who will provide valuable insight into the design process.
