Introducing the 2019 Board of Directors Nominees

FOR VICE PRESIDENT 2019 / PRESIDENT-ELECT 2020

Keith Conrad Blaine, AIA, LEED AP

Blaine Architects

Keith graduated from the University of Southern California where he earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree. His 10 year career began in Los Angeles in 2006, where he lived and worked in downtown LA before joining Foster + Partners in London for the Apple Campus 2 Project in 2012.

His work ethic and drive to create timeless and honest buildings form the foundation of his designs. On site at the Apple Campus 2 project, Keith is in charge of the iconic curved glass facade, four-story movable facade, base isolated movement joints, and all vertical circulation, including 42 elevators and custom stairs. He has built a strong reputation among the team, client, and city officials for solving complex static and dynamic details.

In 2001, I joined the chapter as a West Valley College student, where I became the President of AIAS and served on the AIA Silicon Valley Board of Directors as the Student Liaison. AIA Silicon Valley has been a continuous source of support in my academic and professional career, whether it be directly through national and local chapter events, leadership opportunities and the mentors and friends I have gained, including my amazing wife, who I met at the 2006 AIA national convention. I look forward to the opportunity to give back to the AIA Silicon Valley and to continue the tradition of supporting our members as the chapter has for me.

My passions, as they relate to the architects’ community, are business and team leadership. As a Board Director, I like to bring more services, support, legislation, and inspiration to our chapter by connecting with local experts of allied and outside industries and gathering resources on practice stewardship from the collective intelligence of our practice leaders.
