Joint Chapter Meeting with AIA San Mateo

Come spend the evening with Richard Kennedy, RLA, ASLA and Senior Principal with Field Operations.

Leading many of Field Operations’ most important public realm and urban design projects, Richard Kennedy is widely regarded as one of the field’s most effective designers.  With over 15 years of professional experience, Richard is currently leading the design of the New Presidio Parklands Project in San Francisco, a new 15-acre park that connects the Presidio to San Francisco’s Bayfront; Pier 70, a 28-acre mixed-use development and waterfront park in San Francisco; London’s Battersea Power Station Redevelopment “Rooftop Gardens;” and Dubai’s Creek Harbor Development in addition to the Presidio Tunnel Tops.

Prior to joining Field Operations, Richard worked with Hargreaves Associates in San Francisco on various international design projects including the Brightwater Wastewater Treatment Facility and South Lake Union Waterfront Park in Seattle; and 555 Mission Street Plaza in San Francisco.

Have you been to any of their projects?

The High Line in New York City. A 23 block-long elevated railway reclaimed as an extraordinary public space in the heart of Manhattan’s West Side.

Chicago’s Historic Navy Pier, a world class icon, has a contemporary “pierscape” and is a center of activity and culture that is reflective of an authentic, contemporary Chicago identity.

Tongva Park in Santa Monica. A former parking lot was transformed into a dynamic topography and lush landscape of rolling hills, meadows and gardens now celebrated as an important destination and center for the community and is a short walk from the Santa Monica Pier.

It’s going to be an extraordinary lecture.

6:00 PM Pre-lecture reception at Stanford's East Oval Grove. Map of Stanford Campus
