Join us to learn about a ventilated facade is a cladding system with an air cushion or cavity immediately behind which provides with a drainage, ventilation and thermal solution. It is usually an external cladding system mechanically fastened or bonded to a framework behind fixed to the external wall of a new or existing building.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

 

1. Participants should be able to correctly define various types of exterior cladding systems.

 

2. Participants should be able to identify the major components/features of the ventilated facade system

 

3. Participants will gain an understanding of the advantages of the ventilated facade when compared to other cladding systems

 

4. Participants will gain an understanding of appropriate use of the ventilated facade system

 


 

ABOUT THE PRESENTER:

 

Carolina Albano has worked as Technical Director at Japanese-owned Nichiha USA. She led an all male field rep team, developed test protocols, and managed the architecture and engineering group.


Ms. Albano currently runs the west coast facades division at Porcelanosa, while also working on new product development and client relations at Porcelanosa in the western region. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in materials.
