Saint Francis High School Center for Innovation | 1885 Miramonte Avenue, Mountain View, CA 94040

New 2-story steel structure with glass, plaster, brick and metal panel exterior constructed in two phases. At 63,500 SF, Phase 1A features new classrooms, science labs and black box theater, while Phase 1B, consisting of 62,000 SF, includes a school cafeteria with full kitchen and upper level faculty dining with outside terrace. Phase 1A completed in May 2023, Phase 1B is currently in progress.

Panelists:

Vicky Rundorff, SE | Hohbach-Lewin, Inc.

Vicky has been with Hohbach Lewin since 1999. During that time, she has worked extensively in both the public and private school sectors providing structural evaluations, retrofit of existing structures, and the design of all types of new construction.  Building types include classrooms, multi-purpose structures, gymnasiums, administrative buildings and theaters at local campuses including Sequia High School, Castilleja High School, UC Santa Cruz, Capuchino High School, and of course St. Francis High School.

Vicky’s involvement at St. Francis started in 2008 with the design and construction of the theater, followed in 2011 by the library and student commons.  In 2013 the new gym and retrofit of Raskob was completed. And finally, in 2019 the new science building and the dining commons and administrative center were started.  In addition to participating in the design the new campus, Vicky is the proud parent of two St. Francis graduates.

Jason Curtis | Saint Francis High School | President

Jason Curtis is a passionate educational leader with over 25 years of experience in Catholic education. As President of Saint Francis High School in Mountain View, CA, he serves as the chief executive officer, guiding the school’s strategic direction and ensuring its mission-driven success and sustainability. In this role, Jason oversees key areas including strategic planning, campus development, financial stewardship, institutional advancement, enrollment management, and community engagement for a vibrant school community of over 1,750 students and 200 full-time educators.

Before joining Saint Francis, Jason spent nearly 19 years at Cardinal Gibbons High School in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he served as Head of School. During his tenure, he led transformative growth, including a significant increase in enrollment and budget, and the construction of more than 100,000 square feet of new facilities.

Jimmy Macias | HMC Architects | Senior Project Designer

Jimmy Macias is a passionate advocate for design, creating timeless forms and spaces that resonate with communities. With 24 years of experience and nearly nine million square feet of architectural work, he has collaborated with leading firms and contractors.

A Cal Poly Pomona Master of Architecture graduate, Jimmy began his career focusing on healthcare and education, contributing to major international projects like Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and People’s Hospital in Foshan, China. Domestically, he has designed notable healthcare and education buildings across the western U.S., including the award-winning Sacramento Unified School District Central Kitchen.

Jimmy also teaches a healthcare studio at Cal Poly Pomona and leverages his diverse experience in healthcare, education, and civic projects to deliver impactful, enduring designs.

David Perez | HMC Architects | Principal Designer – Interiors

David Perez is an interior design principal at HMC Architects, bringing over 25 years of expertise in interior design and architecture. He provides design leadership and mentoring for the interior practice, specializing in K-12, higher education, and healthcare environments.

A San Francisco Bay Area native and graduate of the College of San Mateo and San Jose State University, David’s career began with a diverse portfolio spanning corporate, technology, and hospitality projects. His passion for design and commitment to serving his community have since led him to focus on creating impactful spaces in healthcare and education. He is dedicated to designing environments that promote well-being, foster learning, and supports student success.

Notably, David has led the interior design of several acclaimed Northern California education projects, including Diablo Valley College Art & PEK Buildings, Sierra College New Instructional Building, Folsom Lake College New Science Building, Laurelwood Elementary School, and St. Francis High School Center for Innovation.

Andy Schatzman | Devcon Construction | Senior Vice President

Andy Schatzman joined Devcon Construction, Inc. in February of 1999 in the capacity of Senior Project Manager bringing with him 16 years previous experience in the construction industry.  Andy has completed numerous multi-million-dollar projects demonstrating his abilities to coordinate the multiple disciplines involved in construction management projects.

Currently as Senior Vice President, Andy possesses the necessary management and communication skills, knowledge of state and local codes and the ability to perform well during fast tracked and complicated projects while remaining within the allotted budgets.

Andy holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Santa Clara University, a Contractors (B) License and is E.I.T. Certified. He has successfully completed LEED, Core Concepts and Strategies course.
