Course Description:
Downtown San Jose is on the rise! Explore how four projects by local architects are contributing to the vibrant community of DTSJ. 250 Stockton and BoTown (Steinberg Hart) and 200 Park and Adobe Founders Tower (Gensler) are creating monumental impacts on the future of DTSJ. Learn about unique solutions for each project as they address client goals, urban context, building performance, public place-making, and market demands.
Learning Objectives (Pending 1.25 LU/HSW):
- Review design drivers in a downtown urban environment, including specific site context, zoning regulations, and transit access.
- Explore opportunities for developments to provide benefits to the community–including public engagement, vibrant street presence, and mix of uses–according to jurisdictional regulations and design guidelines.
